Scheduled Airlines
The budget airline business has given the scheduled airlines a major shock. At one time flying with them was the only option, along with the high prices. Now with the continued growth of the no frill airlines they have had to have a major rethink.
The following are some of my favourite airlines and I have managed to book flights with all these airlines at competetive prices by shopping around.
for example, they have undertaken a major publicitiy campaign promoting their low fares. They emphasis in their campaign that all their fares are return.
There is no doubt about it that the service and comfort these airlines provide make your flying experience much more enjoyable, but all this comes at a price.
I have included some major companies in this site so that you have a greater choice and can compare prices.
has long been one of the worlds major airlines and their claim to be the world's favourite airline is in my opinion well justified.
Singapore Airlines is internationally recognised as one of the world's leading carriers. Their route network spans over 90 cities in almost 40 countries including the Far East, Australia and New Zealand. Their most popular destinations are Adelaide, Auckland, Brisbane, Bali, Christchurch, Melbourne, Perth, Singapore and Sydney. Each passenger has their own seat back TV, with over 60 movies to choose from, 200 cd albums and 87 TV programmes. It is one of my favourite scheduled airlines.
Passengers can play, pause, rewind and fast-forward all at the touch of a button.
I have flown with Singapore Airlines and the seat back entertainment centres really help to pass the time away.
The service on board is truly a class above some of the other major airlines, a must on my flight booking list to the Far east.
Virgin Atlantic, Sir Richard Branson's airline was one of ther first to stand up against the major airlines and played a big part in shaping the airline industry pricing as it is today. They also have Virgin Express in Europe and Virgin Blue in Australia. They have always been innovative with their inflight service. The latest addition to their upper class services is double beds!
With more than 35 daily scheduled flights out of the UK, serving 16 UK Airports (Aberdeen, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Humberside, Leeds, London City, London Gatwick, London Heathrow, Manchester, Newcastle, Norwich, Southampton, and Teeside airports) and flying to 200 destinations in over 80 countries
KLM airlines carry more than 17 million passengers each year, KLM is the 4th largest airline in Europe. They have now joined forces with Air France.
They have a reputation as one of the world's best scheduled airlines with excellent onboard service.
