Priceline, the internet's leading name you own site.

Priceline is an internet booking agency where you name your own price for flights and hotel bookings.

In Europe you can only book hotels with Priceline.co.uk but in the U.S.A. you can book flights as well as hotels.

I have only ever booked hotels with them and I can thoroughly recomend them. On a recent trip to Amsterdam I checked into the Crowne Plaza at Schipol Airport and paid just £40 ($68) per night for two people in a four star hotel complete with a full cooked breakfast. I decide to stay at the airport because it is very easy to get into central Amsterdam by train from the airport (10 mins.)And the hotel provides a complementary bus service from the hotel to the airport where trains run every few minutes.

Checking out airport hotels for good prices is well worth considering particularly if it has easy access to where you want to be.

I have also booked twice into hotels in London, again at great prices in quality hotels in good locations.

There are some points that you need to know when using priceline.

1. You are unable to book a specific hotel with them, you select the rating of the hotel you require i.e. 2* 3* 4* etc. and the area you wish to stay in. This isn't too much of a problem, for instance if you require a hotel in London you can select which area you want to be in. The West End, North London, Soho etc.

2. You need to be fairly flexible so this site is often of the most benefit to senior citizens or student who can be flexible with their travel arrangements.

3. Carry out your research with the leading internet booking agencies, particularly for flights. Check their prices then go to Priceline to see if they can beat it. There are some links at the bottom so you can go direct to these sights. When you have finshed checking just close the page and you will come straight back to this page.

I have only used Priceline for booking hotels and have not had any problems at all. I would thouroughly recomend them especially for hotel bookings.

Any feedback good or otherwise would be most appreciated so that I can add it to this page.

For those of you who wish to name your own prices for flights and hotels originating from the U.S.A. the following link will take you to their site.
