Middle East Budget Airlines
Middle east budget airlines are few and far between. This I am sure will change rapidly. For instance in Saudi Arabia 70% of the population have never flown so there is plenty of room for growth in these markets. Africa is in a very similar situation with very few budget airlines, but once again there is tremendous scope for growth.
I would appreciate any information on any other airlines or future airlines in the Middle east or Africa. Please fill in the following form and I will add the information to this web site.
Gulf Traveller
Gulf Traveller is the economy full service airline, which operates as a subdivision of Gulf Air. Their destinations are: Riyadh, Jeddah, Abu Dhabi, Nairobi, Dar Es-Salaam, Muscat, Bahrain, Karachi, Mumbai, Trivandrum, Colombo, Dhaka, Kathmandu, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, plus you can book Gulf Air flights from Gulf Traveller.
Air Berlin
This is not strictly a Middle East budget airline as it is based in Germany but it operates budget flights to Antalya, Bodrum and Dalaman from various German cities.
Geman Wings
Again this is not a Middle East budget airline but operates flights between Izmir, Cologne and Bonn, and from Istanbul to Cologne, Bonn and Stuttgart.
Kulula
Kulula is a South Africa based budget airline company operating between Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, George, and Port Elizabeth.
1time
1Time was launched in February, 2004. The airline is specifically aimed at the low-income market.
Destinations: Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban.
Long Haul Flights at Economy Prices
Budget airlines generally operate only short haul flights, which is great if you are travelling locally. If for instance you require along haul flight as the first leg of your journey shop around to make sure you get the best possible deal. I can thoroughly recommend the following companies who have excellent flight search engines.
Companies specialising in flights from the United States.
Other Budget Airlines Worldwide
Australian Budget Airlines
Asian Budget Airlines
