Holiday rental cars growth has increased at much the same speed as the growth in the budget airlines markets. A car gives you the freedom that taxi’s and pubic transport don’t. You can just come and go as you please with a car.

I have researched several companies and have come up with some astonishing results.

Prices vary tremendously, the following are some examples.

For the purpose of these examples I have chosen Alicante rental car hire prices which is a very popular Spanish destination airport.

For the basis of this I have selected a medium range rental car for one week in August from Saturday the 6th to Saturday the 13th with two named drivers, the following are the results.

It is rapidly becoming a major player in this market and by the end of this year will be represented in 40 countries with 1,400 rental locations and access to a fleet of some 350,000 cars.

Europcar has a wide range of vehicles available for hire in over 118 countries around the world, offering highly competitive prices on car & van rentals to both business and leisure travelers.
Their price for this week is £216.00

Record are one of the biggest car hire companies in Spain with a fleet of over 20.000 vehicles and, through the Internet; they work directly with the customer. This translates into a great reduction of the expenses. This reduction is reflected on competitive prices.
Their price for this week is £131.86

As you can see there are tremendous differences in the prices of Alicante car hire. All of the above Alicante car hire prices are on an equal basis, the same size of hire car, two drivers and collision damage waiver cover on the insurance.

Check the insurance offered is adequate for your requirements, I always take out full collision damage waiver, the last thing you need is to have to pay a hefty excess fee if you are involved in any accident.
